I discovered this morning, purely by accident, that my cell phone has a contrast setting (which makes sense, as it's got a "night shot" mode that actually works). And eventually, I'll have the house in order enough that I'll feel safe bringing the good camera out of its hiding place again, and then there will be photos all over your flist. So, started some cute lace fingerless gloves (for which I'll actually be knitting half-fingers... good practice for actual gloves, I guess!). I just have to sew the buttons on the Unnamed Sweater, and then, of course, write up the pattern. It's a nice, easy little pattern, and will be knit again with my orange/purple/red yarn. I haven't done canvaswork forever. I like canvaswork. To wit:

I found a lovely design called "Adobe Sunset" by Donna Taylor Designs. I can't find a link for her directly, but many of her lovely designs are viewable here. I changed up the colors a bit, and did it on black, and turned it into a trivet.

The Scarlet Thread is again this year doing a lovely 4-foot Christmas tree and donating it to the Junior League of Northern Virginia's Enchanted Forest holiday fundraising event. The trees are auctioned off to raise funds to support the JLNV's programs focused on preparing children in Northern Virginia for success.
